Resource planning for agencies

Know where every hour goes — and what it's worth

GetControl is a resource planning tool for design, tech and consulting agencies. It tracks each person's real monthly capacity, schedules their hours across projects, and turns those hours into expected invoicing against client budgets — so workload and revenue live in the same view.

Built at Unfold in Oslo. It runs our studio every day.

Still planning people in a spreadsheet?

Who's free in March?

Availability lives in someone's head. Holidays, part-time contracts and leave make the sheet wrong the day after you save it.

Are we overbooked or underbooked?

Nobody knows until the invoices go out — and by then the month is already lost.

What does next quarter look like?

Hours and rates live in different files, so the forecast is a best guess with a formula on top.

How agencies plan capacity with GetControl

Capacity that reflects reality

Every person's true hours per month — employment percentage, public holidays, company closures and leave included. You plan against hours that actually exist.

One grid for people, projects and months

Schedule hours per person, per project, per month. Tentative work and pitches sit next to confirmed projects — dashed, visible, never forgotten.

Every plan shows its money side

Scheduled hours × each person's rate becomes expected invoicing, checked against the client's budget. Overbooking flags itself before the invoice goes out — not after.

Utilisation at a glance

Green is money. Red is waste.

GetControl colours every person-month by utilisation. An underbooked studio is impossible to miss, and an overbooked one becomes a good problem you can see coming.

Built by an agency that needed it

GetControl was built at Unfold, a design and technology studio in Oslo, because our spreadsheets kept lying to us. Every project and every hour of our studio is planned in it — the version you get is the version we run our company on.

Frequently asked questions

What is GetControl?
GetControl is a resource planning and capacity scheduling tool for agencies. It shows each person's real monthly capacity, lets you schedule their hours across projects, and calculates expected invoicing from those hours and rates — so both workload and revenue are visible in one place.
How is GetControl different from a spreadsheet?
A spreadsheet stores numbers; GetControl understands them. Capacity updates itself when someone takes leave or works part-time, budgets warn when they're overbooked, and utilisation is calculated live for the whole company. Nothing breaks when someone sorts the wrong column.
What does GetControl cost?
Pricing is per seat, and we're finalising the details with our first external organisations. Request access and we'll walk you through it — early teams get a real say in the roadmap.
How long does onboarding take?
Days, not months. Setup is a guided session with us: we configure your people, roles and current projects together, and most teams plan their first real month right away.
Is our data safe?
Yes. Each organisation's data is fully isolated, everything sits behind sign-in, and as a Norwegian company we operate under GDPR. Your data is never shared or sold.
Does it handle freelancers and part-time staff?
Yes. People can be employees or freelancers, full-time or fractional, with employment periods that start and stop — capacity always follows the contract, not an assumption.
